"I Am Magic"

by Tony Hassini

I am Magic.

I am as old as the human race.

Yet I am new to a newborn child.

In me, so many find joy, laughter, and happiness.

Some find fame and wealth.

I am the universal language and have no boundaries.

I have been an inspiration to medicine and the foundation to science.

Some think that I am a vanishing art... yet...

As long as there are children of all ages, I shall remain with you 'till eternity.

I am Magic.

(I wrote this poem in 1968 and published it in the Sorceror's Notebook. This poem was intended to express my feelings about what magic is to me.)
